Springfield Healthcare Group was established in 1967 as a single family-run care home and has since grown steadily, now providing care to nearly 2,000 clients Yorkshire and Humberside each day.

BGF has backed Springfield since 2012. Its investments, which total £13.5m, have been used to support the growth of the company's care village model, including:

  • the building of a new care village in the iconic Terry’s Chocolate head office building in York. The £7m development will open in March 2017 and provide 82 care suites and eight luxury apartments for residents.
  • the completion of Seacroft Grange care village in Leeds in October 2013, which transformed a once dilapidated historic building into a new care complex and created 100 new jobs.

Springfield's Care Villages offer a full range of care options from day care, residential, dementia and nursing care, combined with private independent living apartments.

The company is led by CEO Graeme Lee, suppory by Mark Beadle, the group's chairman. Mark was previously chief operating officer at Priory Healthcare Group, chief executive at Capio Nightingale - which operates the Florence Nightingale Hospital - and managing director at Aitch Care Homes (ACH).
