What inspired you to start your business?
I’ve always had a passion for cars – everything from how they’re designed and built through to how they’re sold. As my father was a car dealer I learnt the importance of first impressions in terms of quality and environment. It’s got to look and feel right. Equally, I’m passionate about delivering the best levels of customer service, so G&P was an obvious fit.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Surviving the recession in 2008 was a massive challenge. However, it forced us to re-evaluate the long-term strategy of the business and we are now bigger and stronger than ever before.
What has been your best business decision?
Without a doubt, building a strong, talented management team who share my vision for the future of the business.
What has been your worst business decision?
I’m a strong believer in following your gut instinct. I would say that my worst business decisions come when I have simply not followed this natural gut feeling.
Which business leader would you most like to share a meal with, and why?
Karren Brady. Having been made a life peer for her services to business, entrepreneurship and women in business, it would be fascinating to spend time hearing about her various business experiences and drawing upon her wealth of knowledge.
What company do you most admire, and why?
Jaguar Land Rover and McLaren both have a very proud history and rich heritage, and are two fantastic examples of British engineering and ingenuity, yet they are both very different from each other.
