Ever keen to don our wetsuits, jump on our bikes and pound the tarmac for a good cause, 18 members of the BGF team from across our various regional offices took part in the Impetus Private Equity Triathlon last Saturday at Olympic rowing venue Eton Dorney Lake.
The event was held in aid of the Impetus Private Equity Foundation which is committed to transforming the lives of economically disadvantaged 11-24 year olds, ensuring they get the support they need to succeed in education, find and keep jobs, and achieve their potential.
With over 60 firms and 350 participants from across the private equity and associated industries taking part on the day, the event last year raised £146,000 and the organisers believe that fantastic total will be surpassed in 2015. This year, BGF alone raised over £10,500 (and counting).
We had a strong presence on the day with 18 team members, resplendent in BGF branded kit, completing the race as individuals or in relay teams of three. All performed incredibly well but a special mention should go to BGF Investor James Syrotiuk, who finished second in the overall event, posting the fastest Sprint distance swimming time of the day (a remarkable 11minutes and 40seconds for 750metres) on his way to a finishing time of 1 hour 19 minutes.
A huge thank you to everyone who sponsored us.
